Creative Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist

About Me

Hello, My name is Zoe, I bring a down-to-earth and thoughtful approach to my work. Throughout my life I've been drawn to working with people and the complexities and challenges that are related to low self-esteem and self-worth. Whether this has been shaped by earlier life experiences or current present day stressors, I understand that it may be difficult to talk about certain experiences or express our thoughts and emotions and I welcome you with warmth and genuine care.

When we struggle to see our own value, we may compare ourselves to others and put everyone else's needs before our own. I offer a non-judgemental presence, a supportive environment, where the focus is on you, it's an invitation to pause, reflect and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.

My Approach I work with adult individuals, offering in-person (Ecclesfield Village) and remotely via Zoom, offering the flexibility of weekly or fortnightly appointments for both short- and long-term therapy. At the heart of my practice is the nurturing of a genuine, compassionate therapeutic relationship, where I hope you can feel truly seen and heard. I draw from a blend of therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Psychosynthesis and Trauma-Focused CBT. I believe in adapting the therapy to you, not to other way around. I've always been drawn to to expression and the freedom of being creative, which has led me to incorporate this into how I practice. So while I offer traditional talking therapy, my approach combines creative elements. Creative materials and resources may support self reflection when words alone may not suffice or when you seek a deeper insight. Your choice is paramount, and creative interventions might involve using pens and paper, sand trays, cards, and more. I can provide materials, but you are also welcome to bring your own.

Experience

I bring experience in working with a range of issues, including low self- esteem, anxiety, worry, interpersonal trauma, low-confidance and stress. My commitment is to stand alongside you as you explore and make sense of the challenges you face. This journey often involves uncovering existing inner resources, developing new coping strategies, fostering acceptance, problem-solving, or initiating change. I believe that counselling can be a transformative process, fostering self-discovery and personal growth. Whether you wish to delve into a specific issue or gain a deeper understanding of yourself, we'll explore the difficulties you're facing at your own pace.

Book a free 15-minute discovery call

To ease the first step into therapy, I offer a free 15-minute consultation where you can openly discuss the difficulties your facing, gather information, and make an informed decision about embarking on this journey.

Training and Professional Development

Throughout my professional journey, I've volunteered with various counselling organisations in Sheffield and Barnsley, providing confidential therapy sessions to individual adults. Over the past nine years, I have gained experience and knowledge in delivering Psycho-education groups, low self-esteem programs, and PTSD programs. I am an accredited member of The National Counselling Society (NCS21-02817) and my educational background includes a Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (2016) and a Diploma in the Practice of Supervision (2021). In 2018, I founded my private practice, A Deeper Sense, affording me the opportunity to engage with clients in a more imaginative and flexible manner, granting them greater autonomy in their therapeutic journey. Simultaneously, I maintain my role as a Trauma Focused Therapist and supervisor at a charity supporting women who have encountered trauma and abuse. As my practice evolved, I developed a keen interest in working with therapists and other mental health professionals. In 2020, I began delivering CPD workshops online for therapists on the topics of self-care, vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout. If you're ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery. I'm here to support you every step of the way.
