I'm Zoe, a counsellor who is passionate about supporting those who struggle with low self-esteem and anxiety. Feeling doubtful about your worth, questioning if you're good enough and battling with critical thoughts can feel like a daily battle. It can take great courage to push past negative self-talk, to seek counselling and prioritise your own well-being. Whether you would like to explore a specific issue or understand yourself better, I offer a welcoming space where you can explore the difficulties you're experiencing at your own pace. Self-criticism, doubting our own abilities, constantly worrying about what others think, can leave us feeling overwhelmed and stuck. I’m a down-to-earth, creative counsellor offering 1:1 talking therapy, a space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without criticism or judgement. I will meet you with warmth and listen with genuine care. Everyone that I work with is seen as unique, each possessing their own inner resources and an inbuilt ability to thrive and grow. Many factors can influence our perception of ourselves, including unhealthy relationships, life experiences, external influences. I have experience of working with a range of issues including adult relational trauma, low self-esteem, and anxiety. I have experience of supporting individuals with regulating emotions, building on coping strategies & managing negative self-talk, moving from feeling overwhelmed to empowered and more…

Creative Integrative Counselling â€‹

Aside from traditional talking therapy, my approach includes offering creative materials like objects, sand trays, pens and paper, and creative cards to enhance the therapeutic experience.  Whether we use creative techniques or not, I believe that the therapy should adapt to you, not the other way around.  Creative resources maybe useful when words don't feel enough or they may offer you a deeper insight, a means of deeper expression. You don't need to be an artist, and your creative spark doesn't need to shine brightly; it’s all about exploration.

Book a free 15-minute discovery call

To ease the first step into therapy, I offer a free 15-minute consultation where you can openly discuss the difficulties your facing, gather information, and make an informed decision about embarking on this journey.

I work with various concerns, including:

General Anxiety

Addressing excessive worry and related symptoms affecting daily life. Anxiety is a normal emotion, although it can become troublesome, when it becomes excessive worry, that doesn't go away even in the absence of the stressor.

Stress

Managing the body's response to threats or pressures that affect well-being. Stress is something everyone feels at times. Too much stress or persistent stress may feel like a constant state of heightened alertness, which can affect mood, the body and our relationships.

Burnout

Dealing with emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion due to overwhelming stress or anxiety. Burnout can lead to a decrease in work performance, loss of interest or motivation, feelings of cynicism, and a sense of ineffectiveness. Sometimes we’re probably pushing so hard that we don’t notice that burnout is even happening.

Self-Esteem

Supporting individuals to overcome self-doubt and low self-esteem. Self-esteem shapes our attitudes and perception of ourselves.  Low self-esteem can fuel imposter syndrome, where we feel like frauds and fear being exposed. Self-esteem and imposter syndrome can interact and influence each other.
